Refined and relaxed – that’s the philosophy of Taivaanranta Restaurant. We have a passion for the Finnish cuisine. Our aim is to create memorable dining experiences from the best local ingredients – sometimes with a dash of our own Teerenpeli Brewery & Distillery products. For us, the Chaîne de Rôtisseurs award is an acknowledgement of our philosophy and the hard work we put into continuously improving the quality of our food and the service we provide.

Inspired by our values

We put people and our natural resources at the heart of everything we do. We want to take responsibility for ensuring our operations are environmentally sustainable through our daily actions, both large and small. At Taivaanranta, we always strive to use the best possible Finnish – preferably local – seasonal ingredients. We employ experienced professionals as well as young career starters. The beers, ciders and whiskies from our own brewery and distillery are produced using filtered groundwater from Salpausselkä in Lahti. The brewery uses renewable energy from our own wood pellet power plant.

Teerenpeli – est. 1994

Taivaanranta is part of Teerenpeli Group based in Lahti. The first Teerenpeli restaurant opened in 1994. Initially, the microbrewery was located in the basement of the restaurant. Over the years, both the restaurant business and the production of our unique beverages have expanded.
Today, our restaurant chain includes Teerenpeli restaurants in Lahti, Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Lappeenranta, Turku, Tampere and Oulu, as well as the floating summer restaurant Teerenranta and Wine Cafe Olavi in Lahti. The products of the Teerenpeli Brewery are sold all over Finland, and the internationally awarded Teerenpeli Distillery in Lahti produces 100,000 litres of whisky distillate per year.
